DJ Tyrer, three poems

An English Wednesday

A Fleeting Moment

Such a fleeting thing
A fleeting moment
In the eye of eternity
Even stars die
And existence
Must come to an end

Two Li(v)es

The man who in his heart was a woman and the woman who in her heart was a man exchanged appraising glances, each thinking, “They have all that I desire yet squander it!” never realising the truth.

Faded Pages

The actor manqué reads aloud
From the faded pages of a play
Pages that are yellowed and frail
Flaking at his clumsy touch
Just as his mind flashes away as he reads
Fading into thoughtless oblivion
